In the same way that the internal life of a person is the subject of the figure paintings, the resonance of a particular place is the focus of this series. The empty space is as important as the structure. Often the people are no longer present but it is in their very absence that they are palpable. The consciousness of previous occupants, ghosts of memory, linger.
